Chime Bells of Zeng Hou Yi
65 pieces of chime bells were excavated in the Tomb of Zeng Hou Yi (more than 2400 ago).
Chu Wang Bo Bell is one of them.
These bells were hanging in three tiers from a bell rack made of wood and bronze.
The Niu Bell on the upper layer, 19 pieces, can produce clear tones.
Thirty-three pieces of Yong Bell on the middle layer are used to play melody.
Twelve pieces of Yong Bell on the lower layer are used to accompany.
The unearthed play implements are six pieces of T-shaped color-painted wooden poles and two pieces of colorful wooden sticks.
Gold inscriptions of 3,755 words are carved on the body, the frame and hung hooks.
The compass of the whole series is very broad and the tone can be changed.
Modern, ancient, Chinese and foreign music can all be played on it.
The outstanding character of the chime bells of Zeng Hou Yi Tomb is "one bell with two tones."
On the major drum and the flank part of each bell there is one tone separately, covering three intervals.
