Luguan is also called "bili", "guan" or "guan zi". It is a wind instrument of Bai, Naxi, Yi minority groups. Popular in Lijiang and Dali of Yunnan Province. Luguan is a vertical instrument. The flute is made of bamboo. The mouth piece is made of a piece of reed. There are 8 finger holes, 7in the front and 1 at the back. Tone range: about 2 octaves. Melancholy sound. Suitable for playing sad tones. |
